I think your approach is much more professional ;) Even though my
recommendation would have been to wait, you're right – the final decision
should be left to them =)

I agree with Kimberlee, but I also understand that you wanted the best for the customer. Don't beat yourself up about it - just learn from your lesson and remember it the next time a similar situation arises.

As for the busker, wasn't he wise?! We don't have to always go the long route to get the end result we want. Awesome! Gave this a stumble. :-)

That is a brilliant example! If I were in your situation, I would have discussed the benefits of waiting with my customer, and left the final decision to them. It's their money, so they should set the schedule.
