to pursue my goals, but part of that is I enjoy a lot of my side projects -
guitar, working out, etc =)

You're right, if we don't schedule in some free time and time to relax, it's
easy to put appointments and plans and schedule the blocks right next to
each other – with no downtime, and that's no good either =)

You know, I think with you working on projects, outsourcing, flipping
websites – it probably really is important to have some idle time to think
things through =). I know if I don't have time to think and step back, I
lose perspective of a lot of things. Like you said, definitely not a waste
of time =)

You know you're so organized and get so much done, I think you're the poster
child for a blogger who really values their time =). Even though you have
all these projects on your plate, it sounds like you always enjoy what
you're doing, and enjoy your life – and I always see interesting stuff in
your blog and twitter about your adventures =)

I think you're right – working from home, having your work at the same place
as your personal space is definitely something that makes the dividing line
much more difficult – and even more important, or the lines totally blur =)

I work on a lot of my personal projects during my off hours as well – and
it's something that's always on my mind as well, my time, as well as like
you said – our health and well being. Like you said, those are paramount -
if we don't take care of ourself, how can we expect to do any of the things
we really want to do? =)

I especially like your re-framing that *free time is never free.* I prefer that to freedom time … which just reminds me of freedom fries.

I used to refuse to schedule free time, because then it didn't feel free. The reality is, if I didn't schedule it, it didn't happen. Once I got over that mental hurdle, carving out free time by design, really re-shaped my view and appreciation of time that I choose to be spend on whatever I want. It's my discretionary time that I earned and deliberately traded up for, even if it's for spending on doing nothing :)

Thanks for getting me to think more deeply about time.
